How to shoot a Moonstack
Steps:
1. Determine location
2. Select lens.
Choose between long lens and medium focal length lenses. A longer focal length lens will have very limited FoV, so this might need tripod to be moved around and images to be stitched in post processing. A wider focal length will allow a fixed tripod location and eliminate the need to stitch multiple images, but the moon will appear very small in the frame, so lunar features may not be easily visible.
3. Determine composition
4. Set focus on the moon
5. Expose for the moon (to bring up the lunar features)
6. Setup intervalometer and shoot multiple timed shots for the moon moving across the sky
6. Focus on / expose for the foreground - for base image
7. Post process using stacking or stitching SW. Using a wider/shorter lens will just require stacking, but a longer lens may require stacking & stitching.
